Exploring the Concept Art of New Joysey, Dimensional Double Shift’s Latest DLC

Rise and shine, Shifters!

Back in October, we were thrilled to launch Dimensional Double Shift’s newest dimension, New Joysey, out into the stratosphere (AKA, your headsets). Since then, hardy Shifters jumped right in to smell the enticing blend of saltwater, motor oil, and sizzling diner pizza. While our most recent dimensional breaches are still stabilizing, the Art Division (those wizards of pixels and chaos) have kindly allowed us to showcase some enticing early looks at how New Joysey took shape from garage grease to diner deepfryer. And fireworks. Can’t forget the fireworks.

A special thank you to our incredible artists Nyasha F., Zara L., Grace L., and Francisco G. for sharing their joyful early sketches with us to fully appreciate the New Joysey experience. It’s one for the boardwalk and don’t you fuggitaboutit.

So, without further adieu: grab your complimentary Conglomni-brand wet wipes and let’s step through the concept archives.

The New Joysey Garage

Before any dimensional shift can operate smoothly, you need a base of operations… and a place to fix whatever just exploded. The New Joysey Garage started as an experiment in "organized chaos," inspired by real-world roadside repair shops where the coffee is strong and the duct tape stronger.

From the rust patterns on the tool racks to the well-loved shine of the workbench, our artists wanted this space to feel lived in; a hub where both players and parts come and go in equal measure.

The Diner: Where Shifts and Shakes Collide

Every good road trip needs a diner, and every great diner needs questionable coffee and unbeatable donuts. The New Joysey Diner became the beating heart of this new dimension; equal parts nostalgia, neon, and interdimensional food-driven chaos.

Our artists drew inspiration from vintage coastal diners, sprinkled in some Conglomni-approved optimism, and then asked themselves, “What if reality bent slightly under the weight of a really good stack of calzones?”

Vehicles of Variable Reality

When designing the vehicles of New Joysey, our team focused on character as much as mechanics. Each vehicle was given a story; maybe it’s been rebuilt twelve times, maybe it’s haunted by a particularly motivated alternator. Either way, they all run (eventually).

These designs helped shape the feel of the environment, a mix of coastal grit and cartoonish reliability. Perfect for those who like their joyrides with just a hint of dimensional drift.

Meet ALICE (and Friends)

ALICE and her fellow New Joysey locals bring this dimension to life with all the warmth, sass, and unstoppable confidence of a true Joysey native. Every gesture, hairstyle, and outfit nods to that distinctive “I’m walking here!” energy, reinterpreted through Owlchemy’s signature blend of humor and heart. But selfishly, I’m a little happy blond ALICE stayed on the sidelines this time. Something about the neon pink just screams Joysey.

The Environment: Salty Air, Shifty Vibes

Finally, the New Joysey environment concept art tied everything together. Our artists captured the charm of coastal boardwalks, weathered signage, and that slightly chaotic energy of a place that’s both cozy and unpredictable… much like our players.

From the distant honk of a seagull to the gleam of the boardwalk when contrasted by suspiciously odorous waterfront, every detail was built to make New Joysey feel alive. Like a postcard from a universe that didn’t quite follow the directions.

As always, we at Conglomni Corp remind all Shifters to clock in, clock out, and never question how the coffee refills itself. The New Joysey DLC was built with the same blend of absurdity and authenticity that defines Dimensional Double Shift and we can’t wait to see how you all shift, serve, and survive in our latest dimension. Now on Meta Quest and Android XR!

Bring sunscreen. And maybe a wrench. At the very least your headset.
See you on the boardwalk, Shifters!
