Owlchemy Labs Brings Its Signature Chaos to Samsung’s Galaxy XR Launch, With a New Twist

At Owlchemy Labs, we’re no strangers to breaking ground in new realities. As the studio behind Job Simulator and Vacation Simulator, two of VR’s most beloved and best-selling experiences, we’re excited to be expanding our reach once again. With the launch of the Galaxy XR headset, Owlchemy’s signature titles will be available on day one, alongside our newest experience in mixed reality, Inside[JOB].

That means the moment Galaxy XR owners slip into their headsets, they’ll already have access to the same blend of chaos, humor, and hands-on interaction that helped define modern VR, as well as a first look at our next evolution in spatial experiences.

First up, let’s talk about Inside[JOB], a platform exclusive for Android XR.

A New Kind of [JOB]

Inside[JOB] marks a meaningful leap for us here Owlchemy Labs, taking the familiar charm of the Simulatorverse and cracking it open for a mixed reality experience for Galaxy XR users. Designed as an interactive XR playground, the experience puts JobBot front and center as players help him recover from his trip to REALITY. (Scary stuff, that reality!)

It’s not a sequel, instead it’s more of a playground, a chance to experiment with our latest hand-tracking tech while solving a series of lighthearted repairs. You’ll tweak system settings, fish for data (the safe kind), and repairing PCs in VR, all wrapped in that unmistakable Owlchemy humor.

We’ve previously described Inside[JOB] as spanning “the full spatial spectrum,” blending passthrough MR moments that unfold in your own space with full VR segments that pull you back into JobBot’s world. It’s an approach that feels uniquely Owlchemy: deeply interactive, endlessly replayable, and a little bit absurd in the best possible way.

Bringing Classics to a New Platform

Alongside Inside[JOB], Job Simulator and Vacation Simulator will join the Android XR ecosystem at launch. For Owlchemy, that’s not just about expanding access, it’s about staying true to our mission of making approachable, joyful experiences wherever players are.

Porting the studio’s award-winning titles to Android XR has allowed us to experiment with new layers of immersion through native support for hand, eye, and face tracking. Using Unity and OpenXR, the process has been streamlined enough to let the studio maintain its trademark polish while adapting naturally to mixed-reality hardware.

“Developing across the spatial spectrum doesn’t have to mean choosing between MR and full immersion,” the team explained in a previous update. “It’s about creative freedom, and finding new ways for players to interact naturally with the systems around them.”

Why It Matters

For years, Owlchemy Labs has set the tone for what approachable, inclusive VR design looks like. Its games are intuitive enough for first-timers, but layered with depth that keeps players experimenting long after their first session.

Bringing that philosophy to a new platform, especially at launch, gives Galaxy XR players an immediate taste of what makes VR special: worlds that react to you, comedy that’s physical, and systems that encourage curiosity instead of pressure.

And, with Inside[JOB] on the horizon, we’re not just porting old favorites at Owlchemy Labs. We’re proving once again that playfulness can lead the way in defining how new tech feels. More importantly, how fun it can be!
