Dimensional Double Shift 1.17: The One With A Mysterious New Creature
Dearest gentle Shifters,
Worktoberfest is almost upon us! The air is getting spooky, the waters around Treeattle are getting suspicious, and Conglomni has decided that the best way to celebrate the season is to keep everyone on the clock. Honestly, what could possibly go wrong?
Update 1.17 is here with a preview of new unlockable Worktoberfest goodies, a redesigned End of Shift experience, and a whole lot of bug fixes. Speaking of bugs, we have a particularly important thank-you to share this time around.
A Huge Thank-You for the Bug Bash!
Our community helped us squash 70 bugs during our most recent Bug Bash! That's 70 fewer things getting between you and your perfectly chaotic shifts, and we couldn't have done it without everyone who took the time to play, poke at things, report issues, and help us track down the troublemakers.
Every report helps us better understand what you're experiencing out in the workplace. Whether you're catching a stubborn interaction, spotting something that looks a little off, or finding a bug we somehow managed to miss, your reports make a real difference.
So, from everyone at Owlchemy Labs, thank you for helping make Dimensional Double Shift better. We appreciate the time and care you put into helping us squash these bugs, and we're excited to keep making the workplace a better place to be.
Now, let's get into what's new!
New Features
End of Shift Redesign
Clocking out just got a little clearer! We've redesigned the End of Shift experience to make it easier to understand your results, check your rewards, and decide what comes next.
The End of Shift recap has been streamlined into a single screen.
Continuing your shift together is now easier to navigate.
Less menu confusion, more time causing workplace incidents with your friends.
Worktoberfest Updates
Worktoberfest is coming from October 19 - November 2 with updated seasonal cosmetic assets and a new premium item to add a little extra Halloween spirit to your work wardrobe.
Get into the spooky season, show off your seasonal style, and keep an eye out for something unusual lurking around Treeattle. No, seriously. Something is in the water.
Behind-the-Scenes Improvements
We've also made some backend improvements to our Shift Handler. You might not notice these changes directly, but they're helping lay the groundwork for exciting features down the road. Consider it some behind-the-scenes workitude.
Bug Fixing Highlights
Fabricator fixes: Fixed an issue where the piston could get stuck at the top of the Fabricator, making it appear as though no item had been created.
Party Management fixes: Fixed an issue where the Join button wouldn't work when accepting an invitation to a lobby.
Multiplayer synchronization fixes: Addressed an issue that could cause the Diner and Garage to become desynchronized when a player who wasn't hosting returned to the room as a shift was starting.
Bug Bash Highlights
Order inconsistencies: Fixed several issues involving duplicate items and incorrect icons appearing in orders.
Hot dog handling: Fixed an issue where a hot dog in a hot dog bun wasn't moving properly with the bun. Teamwork makes the dream work, even for lunch.
Jiggly stick-attached items: Fixed an issue where items attached to a stick could jiggle around in the Hangout Area. Physics, please behave.
Something Is Lurking in Treeattle...
A little birdie told us there's something unusual swimming around Treeattle. Or perhaps it was a very large, very mysterious aquatic creature.
Meet Treeurtle, a Loch Ness-style cryptid now making appearances around Treeattle! Keep your eyes peeled while you're out on shift. Some workplace mysteries are better left unexplained.
Known Issues
Sporelando Beans can: The Beans can may not appear at the start of a shift.
Black fadeout when loading into a new shift: Some players may become stuck in the black fadeout when attempting to load into another shift.
Invisible hands during FTUE: Hands may become invisible during the first-time user experience.
We're continuing to investigate these issues and appreciate your patience as we work through them.
Happy Worktoberfest!
That's everything for update 1.17! Between seasonal surprises, a smoother clock-out experience, and 70 bugs squashed with help from our community, there's plenty happening around the workplace.
Thank you again to everyone who joined our Bug Bash and helped make DDS better. Your reports, your time, and your willingness to help us track down the weird stuff genuinely matter to the team.
Now grab your friends, get those shifts started, and keep an eye on the waters around Treeattle. Have a spooky Worktoberfest next week, Shifters!
