Dimensional Double Shift: Update 1.16, The Dawn of a New Controller Support Age
Hello, Valued Shifters!
We have heard your extremely reasonable requests to please let you push buttons with something other than your hands.
And so, after an appropriate amount of workening, testing, tweaking, and what we can only assume was at least one person yelling, “WHY IS IT DOING THAT?!” at a controller, we’re very excited to share that controller support has officially arrived in Dimensional Double Shift!
You can now play DDS with controllers on Meta, Android, and Steam platforms, giving you even more ways to jump into a Shift, cause workplace chaos, and accidentally throw something directly at a coworker.
This is something we know many of you have been asking for, so we're especially excited to finally get it into your hands. Literally.
And speaking of new hands, buttons, and exciting ways to experience DDS, Steam Frame is arriving soon! DDS will be joining Job Simulator, Vacation Simulator, and Cosmonious High (coming soon) on Steam Frame, which means another way for more humans to experience the extremely normal and definitely OSHA-approved workplace opportunities available across the dimensions.
But first, the update!
New Features
Controller Support Has Arrived
Dimensional Double Shift now supports controller use on Meta, Android, and Steam platforms!
Whether you prefer hands, controllers, or simply whatever gets you into the Shift fastest, you now have more ways to clock in and get workening.
We know this has been a big request from the community, and we're incredibly excited to finally say: it's here.
Please use this new power responsibly.
Or don't. You're a Shifter. We know how this goes.
Steam Frame Is Coming Soon
Dimensional Double Shift will be available on Steam Frame soon!
More details are coming, but for now, please begin mentally preparing for additional dimensional workplace opportunities.
Bug Fixing Highlights
A number of bugs have also been shown the exit door, including:
Fixed an issue where the Join button for an invited lobby wasn't functional.
Fixed an issue where freshly made pancakes were being immediately sauced by pancake mix, because apparently even pancakes were trying to get ahead of themselves.
Fixed an issue where rotating appliances didn't maintain their momentum.
Liquids and containers no longer count separately when fulfilling orders.
Notable Changes
No major gameplay changes this time around!
The team has been focused on release stability and getting the new features above ready for your extremely capable human hands and/or controllers.
Known Issues
The Fabricator's piston can occasionally get stuck at the top, making it look like no item was created. The item is not necessarily gone. It may simply be experiencing a temporary disagreement with gravity.
Hands can occasionally become invisible during FTUE.
In Sporelando, the Beans can may not appear at the start of a Shift.
As always, thank you for playing, sharing your feedback, and helping us make Dimensional Double Shift better with every update. We know you've been asking for more ways to play, and we're excited to keep getting those wins into your hands.
Or controllers.
