Dimensional Double Shift Surpasses 500,000 Players, Becomes Owlchemy Labs’ Fastest-Growing Title Ever

Dimensional Double Shift’s success in Open Beta exceeds all expectations, with more content on the way in 2025

AUSTIN, TEXAS – February 27th, 2025 – Owlchemy Labs, the Google-owned VR studio behind VR hits Job Simulator and Vacation Simulator, announced that its debut multiplayer hand-tracking game, Dimensional Double Shift, has surpassed 500,000 downloads since its Open Beta Trainee Program launched in September. This milestone firmly establishes Dimensional Double Shift as the fastest-growing title in the studio’s critically-acclaimed, and delightfully chaotic, portfolio. Players can also look forward to more moments of unbridled fun when additional Dimensional Double Shift content comes later this year.

Dimensional Double Shift has challenged the traditional approach to VR gaming through seamless hand-tracking, cooperative gameplay, and quirky humor. In Dimensional Double Shift players work together to operate a combination garage and diner stations at Gas N’ Grill locations across the Omniverse. Together, players serve Gas N’ Grill customers by cooking meals, fixing cars, and more…with varying degrees of success…while under ALICE’s watchful eye.

Here’s a snapshot of the chaos players have unleashed at Gas N’ Grill over the past five months:

  • Total Game Hours: 1.3 million hours – that’s over 54,000 days for those who are counting, but no overtime will be paid.

  • Times AI Manager ALICE was Bopped: 15.4 million – because apparently, our digital overlords needed a wake-up call.

  • Diner Orders Completed: 7.4 million - the burritos are really good at the Gas n’ Grill!

  • Car Modules Completed: 10.3 million –  who needs a mechanic when you have interdimensional trainees?

"The resounding success of Dimensional Double Shift shows that our instincts were right: People want to play VR with their friends in a fun and seamless environment. What we didn't expect was it to take off so quickly while we were still in Beta,” Andrew Eiche, CEOwl at Owlchemy Labs, said. “This 500,000-download milestone is a testament to the unparalleled appetite for ingenuity and a dash of absurdity that players are hungry for.”
