Just in Time for Summer— Owlchemy Labs Brings ‘Vacation Simulator’ to VR Arcades
The follow-up to VR hit ‘Job Simulator’ will release May 28 for LBE on Steam and SpringboardVR
AUSTIN, Texas — May 15, 2019 — Owlchemy Labs today announced plans to release their latest virtual reality (VR) title ‘Vacation Simulator’ for VR arcades on May 28. Commercial licensing options for the studio’s highly-anticipated title will be available for location-based entertainment (LBE) operators on Steam and SpringboardVR.
“With VR, experiencing is believing—VR arcades make it easy for anyone curious about VR to have that pivotal first-time experience,” says Autumn Taylor, Studio Director at Owlchemy Labs. “We are excited to bring Vacation Simulator to VR arcades, and can’t wait to give everyone from die-hard VR fans to first-time players an incredible experience.”
The latest title from the creators of ‘Job Simulator’ and ‘Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality’, Vacation Simulator presents a humorous, fully-interactive experience built from the ground-up for VR. Players explore the vibrant world of Vacation Island and interact with a colorful cast of characters to discover the true meaning of ‘time off’. The game’s Beach, Forest, Mountain, and Resort destinations allow players to experience typical vacation activities with a not-so-typical twist due to robot misinterpretations of human pastimes.
Owlchemy’s first VR game Job Simulator was a launch title for consumer VR headsets in 2016 to commercial success and consistent popularity in VR arcades. The studio hopes to see similar success with Vacation Simulator in the LBE space, and for the continued growth of the consumer VR market in the coming years.
“Our goal at Owlchemy is to make ‘VR for everyone’,” says Devin Reimer, Chief Executive Owl at Owlchemy Labs. “And there is truly something for everyone to enjoy in this ridiculous world we’ve created.”
The consumer version of Vacation Simulator is available now on Steam and Oculus, with a planned release for PlayStation VR on June 18, and Oculus Quest this winter 2019.
