Dimensional Double Shift Receives Patch 0

Following the launch of Dimensional Double Shift, the team has been hard at work addressing some issues to give players the best experience possible in the beta. This patch includes a lot of fixes, all listed below by section. We send a big thank you to everyone in our community who has submitted feedback so far.

Patch 0 Notes:

Diner

  • Customers now dine in more frequently rather than taking their food to-go.

  • It’s now easier to grab clumps off of things on the grill, instead of grabbing the other thing by mistake.

  • Increased the size of the cooler top shelf to make it easier to grab items.

  • Fixed an issue where opening and closing the cooler would spawn several items.

  • Made it so music plays for all players during the last call.

  • Shift progress screen no longer turns black sometimes for no good reason.

  • Fixed an issue where completed orders were counted incorrectly.

  • Diner Patrons can now hit each other with their food bags while moving in the Diner.

  • Order-up bell now always plays its SFX.

  • Items now remain functional after being attached to the sprayer and placed in the Blendification Station.

  • Fixed issue with raw eggs sometimes appearing cooked, go forth and prevent salmonella.

  • Fixed previous orders sometimes appearing briefly for other players on the serving tray.

  • Flambé torch no longer stays on when the trigger is not pressed. Sorry, fire enjoyers.

  • Salt Bacon can now be made successfully during the last call.

  • Thirst Quencher role can now pour clumps out of cups.

  • Liquid sprayer no longer gets stuck in the diner window.

Garage

  • Added a nicer texture to the scraps at the Scrapper station.

  • Fixed an issue where the end-of-car pull cord in the garage is unreachable after some players disconnect.

  • Adjusted distance passing for the drill so the players grab it more naturally.

  • Vacuum can now clean mud off of car modules.

  • Adjusted player positions in the garage for two-player parties.

  • Improved reliability of cranks in the garage that lift up the tops of cars.

  • Computer virus minigame no longer requires you to move the joystick before hitting the button.

  • Fixed issue with vehicle parts hanging off the bottom of cars as they leave the garage.

  • Cleaned up some misbehaving car panels.

  • Water cooler jug is now visible to all players when held. 

ALICE, Toadtorials & NPCS

  • Updated NPCs outfits and emotions.

  • Adjusted ALICE’s speech timing to fix her speech sometimes being muffled.

  • Fixed an error where ALICE would play "getting hit/thrown at" dialogue after teleporting at the end of a diner shift.

  • Toadtorials are more well-behaved, including when being thrown into the sky. 

  • Toadtorials spark less when put into the Chop-Chop.

  • Fixes for NPC voices and captions.

  • Fixed issue where NPC hands sometimes showed up where they shouldn’t.

Login Room

  • The Login Room keyborb will now continue functioning even if you lose internet connection.

  • Soda now pours more accurately from the hole of the soda can while the can is in a crushed state.

  • Changed the tablet in the Login Room from portrait to landscape.

  • Included better messaging when hand tracking is disabled or if you are holding controllers when starting the game.

  • Players can no longer access their wrist menu before receiving their wristband from ALICE

  • Holding the employee ID in the tutorial sequence no longer causes visual problems.

  • ALICE no longer hides behind the screen during the tutorial sequence at the beginning of the game (She was scared to meet so many new players coworkers).

  • Improved timing of ALICE tutorial sequence.

  • Desk and props in the Login Room are now present during ALICE’s tutorial.

Avatars & Unlocks

  • Improved the placement of the teeth for a couple of jaw options.

  • Adjusted name tags with white backgrounds to be easier to read and vertically centered the text.  

  • Corrected the formatting for item descriptions in the Avatar Menu.

  • Fixed issue where titles sometimes unlocked for incorrect players. 

  • Unlocks now use the correct SFX.

  • Sometimes you’d get a fish statue as a reward instead of the reward you earned. Not any more, babieeeee.

  • “Wear Now” and “Accept” squishable bubbles now appear as expected when unlocking an item. 

  • Titles show their proper names instead of dev names you were totally not supposed to see.

  • Avatar customizations now display correctly for all players.

  • All rings from the VOLT2 collection are now attainable.

  • Can now get the title associated with the hint, “It’s flower. Not flour.”

  • Caffeinated Title now unlocks properly

  • Fixed lighting issue on earrings.

  • Adjusted ring customization UI to more accurately reflect left and right hands.

  • Fixed some hair coloration problems. 

  • Made adjustments to some Title unlock triggers.

Multiplayer & Networking

  • More graceful disconnect handling.

  • Disabled the "random party code" button in the Login scene.

  • Fixed an issue where Players will occasionally get "Party Full" errors when the party is not full.

  • Fixed party menu not showing the player attempting to join.

  • Blocked players can no longer rejoin a party.

  • New Player Incoming banner positioning has been adjusted to avoid clipping. 

Miscellaneous

  • Improved performance; you can stop yelling at ALICE now.

  • Fixed a rare problem where players would get stuck on a loading screen when entering the game. 

  • Enabled snapping on all squishable bubbles.

  • Shift portals now correctly appear for all players after quitting a shift. 

  • Addressed the issue where items couldn’t be passed between player hands if they try to grab it in a different pose.

  • Fixed an issue where players joining a session in progress would occasionally spawn under the island.

  • Removed the ability for players to take tethered items from the garage and diner to the other area.

  • Fixed an issue where the end of shift Rewards Crate would fall through the table.

  • Fixed giving up on a shift very quickly causing the shift to not properly end.

  • Fixed issue where some items would sliiiiiiiide back into position when respawning after being destroyed.

  • SFX for completing a shift no longer plays when beginning a shift. 

  • Putting your hand in the shift portals now triggers the correct SFX and visuals.

  • Rewards Crate should now break for all players.

  • Improved stability of rewards sequence. 

  • Fixed overlaps between the clipboard and other objects during the shift reward sequence.

  • Fixed Shift Done logo appearing when it shouldn’t.

  • Developers have gotten more sleep 💤
