Dimensional Double Shift: Hexas Minor Patch Notes Update 4 Now Live
Welcome back, Shifters! We’ve boiled another batch of chaos in the galactic crockpot that is Dimensional Double Shift, and this time we’re serving up a Hexas-sized helping of fixes, flavor, and fire extinguisher functionality. Whether you’re patching up greasy garage horrors or experiencing existential delight in 4 the acidic fondue fountain of the Diner, this update’s got something for everyone—except floating broccoli. That’s dead now. Don’t ask questions.
Our devs dug deep, spelunking through the very bowels of code to chase down performance quirks, art hauntings, and that one guy in your lobby who always screams “IT’S JUST A PRANK, BRO” before crashing the server. We’re not naming names (Conrad Glomni), but subtitles and voice are finally back on speaking terms. Maybe next update we’ll patch in his conscience.
General
NPC Dialogue Refinement/Tone Adjustment: In an effort to ensure a more comfortable and inclusive experience for all players, some NPC dialogue lines that were deemed overly suggestive or inappropriate have been removed or revised.
We've untangled the mysterious disconnect between Conrad Glomni's voice and his on-screen subtitles.
Fixed instances where UI elements could overlap on the end-of-shift screens.
Made some player hand model improvements to better match hand movement.
Resolved an issue where multiple items were not spawning at their designated locations across all shifts and dimensions.
Garage
Never lose sight of your goals again! Our brand-new shift progress indicator bar will keep you locked on target and motivated to finish your shift.
Welding Gun snap point does not move with Propane Tank height adjustment.
Fixed an issue where the hook in the "Gas Hog Butt" module could clip with the module's cover.
Both the fire extinguisher and actual fire will now effectively clean grimy garage panels.
Increased detail on items in Garage, and other visual improvements.
The Big Red Button Module now behaves consistently for all players.
Resolved an issue where certain attached parts of the Branding Fabricator station would remain static instead of moving vertically with the station due to missing collision.
Hit List module texture improvements.
Performance boost for vacuum. Sucking up brains won’t cause severe lag anymore!
Diner
All Players can now see the blood fill up the cauldron.
We've dragged the Hexas Diner through the nine circles and back, resulting in general visual improvements that will make your eternal pit stop slightly less visually offensive.
We've made sure the prickly pear dissolves in acid exactly how you'd expect..
Chicken clumps will now stay the same size even when they're in motion. No more weird shrinking or growing poultry blobs.
No more wild floating broccolis!
Resolved an oddity where candles would stubbornly refuse to ignite if they happened to respawn in close proximity to an existing fire source. They should now spark without issue.
We've streamlined the replenishment of consumable items. They will now respawn as expected, eliminating the need to cycle container states. Get back to work!
Stability
We've been hard at work under the hood, implementing various fixes and optimizations specifically aimed at reducing the frequency of crashes.
Known Issues:
Potential for Unintended Lobby Joining: Under specific circumstances involving private room invites and leaving, players may be able to join a subsequent public lobby unintentionally.
Public Lobby Invitation Limitation: Players in a public room are currently unable to send invites via the Meta menu or the Party management screen.
Incorrect Meta Store Launch on Initial Hexas Tab Selection (No DLC Owned): The first time players without the Hexas DLC select the Hexas tab from the login menu, the Meta Quest store may open instead of the expected in-game DLC purchase window.
Fluid Filling Inconsistency: Players in the Hexas Diner may sometimes experience cups not filling with fluids as expected.
Shift Start Interruption: If a player leaves the designated boundary after a Hexas Shift has been initiated, the shift may fail to start.
Floating Clumps: In the Hexas Diner, Clumps may appear to float above the Pie Drawer instead of resting inside it.
Brief Visual Artifact Near Grab Hints: Players may briefly see "white target dots" in the background when their hands are near Grab Hints.
Immobile Cauldron Clumps: Clumps within the Cauldron in the Hexas Diner are currently immobile and cannot be interacted with.
So buckle up, slap on your safety goggles, and plunge into Hexas. Just remember: if your shift fails to start, it’s not a bug—it’s a metaphor for late capitalism.
