Summer C.A.M.P. Festival, Conglomni Commerce, and The Extremely New Concept of “Buying A Thing”
One of our goals for Dimensional Double Shift has always been finding new ways to make the game feel alive between major updates and dimensions. That's a big part of why we created Festivals in the first place.
Festivals give us a chance to refresh the world, experiment with new ideas, celebrate the community, and give players new things to earn while they play. The Summer C.A.M.P. Festival is our biggest step in that direction so far, with a completely refreshed lobby, a community progression event, a new Camp Counselor ALICE, and a whole collection of summer-themed cosmetics to unlock.
Alongside those rewards, we're also introducing something new for the first time: a premium cosmetic.
Meet the SUPER SPLOOSHER.
For $1.99, the SUPER SPLOOSHER gives players a pair of water-blasting gloves that can be used throughout your shifts. It started as a simple idea. Water fights are fun. Multiplayer games are fun. Putting those two things together felt like a pretty natural fit for a summer festival.
What we love most about Dimensional Double Shift is that some of the best moments happen when players stop worrying about efficiency for a second and start creating their own fun. Whether that's helping a new player learn the ropes, turning a routine shift into complete chaos, or spending twenty minutes spraying your friends instead of doing your actual job, those shared moments are often the ones people remember most.
The SUPER SPLOOSHER is designed with that spirit in mind.
It's worth noting that because it creates water on demand, there may be situations where it proves useful beyond simply causing trouble for your coworkers. As we continue exploring new gameplay systems and future progression ideas, we want to be transparent that interactive cosmetics can sometimes have practical uses in addition to being fun toys. That's something we'll continue paying attention to as the game evolves.
At the same time, we remain committed to making sure Dimensional Double Shift stays welcoming and accessible to everyone. The game remains free to play. Expansions are still shared across players in a Shift. And the Summer C.A.M.P. Festival includes a whole collection of new cosmetics that can be unlocked simply by participating in the event.
This isn't a shift away from that philosophy. It's an expansion of what Festivals can be.
We're excited to experiment with new reward types, new cosmetics, and new ways for players to express themselves. Some ideas will resonate more than others. That's part of the process, and your feedback plays a huge role in helping us figure out what comes next.
As always, we'll be listening.
In the meantime, grab your friends, unlock some rewards, and enjoy Summer C.A.M.P.
Just don't ask us to pay for any water damage.
